Perch Objects is at The Beck

We’re excited to announce another local, Hudson Valley maker to The Beck this month. Meet industrial designer, Amy Adams Ratliff of Perch Objects. Amy’s studio produces design-forward, handmade objects for the home out of wood, brass, ceramic and concrete.

All of Perch Objects lamps and sculptures are handmade in the Hudson Valley. Shown here are the Ziggy Lamp, Wavy Tall Lamp, and Grounded Lamp. The Ziggy Lamp features stacks of poplar rounds and a whimsical pleated shade. Each lamp is different due to the varying shades of wood, from light maple to warm brown to olive green. To the artist, this piece is reminiscent of layers of sand and earth. I also love the stacked monochromatic quality of the Grounded Lamp.

Three more stunning lamps including the CC Lamp and MM Lamp. They are both made of poplar but so incredibly different and distinct in form. One is a study of abstract shapes, intersecting in perfect proportion while the other is delicate and sculptural, perched on 4 legs.

Perch Objects convey spontaneity, whimsy, craftmanship and blend the thoughtfulness of design with the materiality of the handmade. To schedule an appointment to view more of Amy Adams Ratliff’s delightful work, visit our maker’s gallery website at The Beck.
