Kieran Kinsella is at The Beck
Kieran Kinsella, a sculptor and furniture maker known for his striking use of color, form, and materials, captivates me with his creations that blur the lines between function and form. With a unique style that melds traditional design and funky forms, I find his pieces are oftentimes the perfect addition to my design layouts. They make great end tables and art podiums, obviously, but they can also stand alone as a pure accent in so many different types of spaces.
Kieran Kinsella's piece titled "Facet" is an exploration of geometric precision and spatial relationships. Through a combination of sharp lines and subtle curves, Kinsella creates a really dynamic composition and invites us to think about the interplay between form and structure. I feel that "Facet" is also striking example of Kinsella's unique artistic vision.
All wood pieces are made from select Northeast hardwoods, hand carved and kiln-dried. An oil or wax finish is then applied. It is surprising how smooth, rich, and lustrous the final piece looks.
