It's Time for Holiday Gifting

Why not spread some holiday cheer this year by purchasing your gifts from incredibly talented local makers! As a local design firm it is such a pleasure to have access to a wide breadth of local makers and artisans right at my doorstep. I try to incorporate these handmade wares into my designs as often as possible and my clients enjoy being able to tell the stories behind their lovingly handcrafted furnishings. My husband and I launched the makers gallery The Beck for just this reason. View a few of my favorite locally made gifts below and check out other items at The Beck, where you can now order directly through the website!

I love the serene glow of Dean Babin’s Emmett Lamps. They are available in numerous wood varieties to match any aesthetic and look gorgeous when paired in multiples. These lamps were the 2020 Winner of the Pinnacle Award & International Society of Furniture Design’s Innovation + Design Award. The craftsmanship and fine details on the Emmett Lamps do not disappoint!

For your friends that have trouble keeping their house plants alive? No way! Re Jin Lee’s sculptural plants are so much more than stand-ins for the real thing! Re Jin somehow manages to transform a hard material into a sumptuous form evocative of the natural shapes found in our environment.

I discovered EJ Bonbons & Confections on a leisurely outing to Woodstock, NY recently, and it is one of my most exciting Hudson Valley finds to date! Their bonbons are delicious artistic morsels. Both owners arrived at their lovely outpost via the NYC restaurant scene. And it is obvious that they have honed their craft to an unparalleled level while taking full account of the aesthetic quality of both their shop and products! I could go on and on about EJ Bonbons & Confections, but you should really just try them yourself!

Also a reminder that Re Jin Lee’s work is on display at The Beck gallery through the end of the year. It can be viewed at street level anytime. Or contact us through the form below to schedule an intimate, in-person look at her fascinating works.
